Originally from Queens, New York, Executive Chef Rolf J. Weithofer, was lured into the culinary world when his passion for food was discovered at an early age.
Chef Rolf went on to study at the Culinary Institute of America where he earned his Associates Degree and learned to develop his own distinct style and flare. He continued his career in the international food service industry encompassing more than 22 years of professional culinary experience at exclusive restaurants and hotels that top the list of gastronomic greatness in Maui, Germany, Japan, Los Angeles, Venezuela, Miami and Puerto Rico, including the renowned Maxim’s de Paris in New York City.
Over the years, Chef Rolf has received an abundance of awards recognizing his culinary achievements including being highlighted in 1998 as one of the “Top Executive Chefs” in North America and receiving the Gold Medal for his participation in the Culinary Olympics in Frankfurt, Germany as a Culinary apprentice for the USA - Culinary National Team.
The viewpoint that Chef Rolf has towards his culinary creations reflects on freshness and flavors with an overall focus on a healthy cuisine. Chef Rolf’s vision is to utilize the resources of his surrounding region to not only support local farmers, but to showcase what riches (foods) these areas have to offer in a culinary way with great offerings throughout his restaurants. Adapting his skills and utilizing his experience, in the creative inquisitive manner of a master and a visionary, Chef Rolf synthesizes the essences of each region in which he has worked.
Chef Rolf prides himself on being a leader at Bally’s Atlantic City with an everyday focus on Team Work. His current position allows him to shape the culinary identity of the iconic Bally’s, located at Boardwalk and Park Place, with more than ten outstanding outlets including 6ix, Arturo’s, and destination dining hotspot, The Reserve.
One of Chef Rolfs belief and what he lives up to is, “having fun at what you do, enjoy your passion, create a balance, and when you cook good…you feel good.
