ALLISON FISHMAN  
 
Allison Fishman helps you fall in love with food and cooking. As a co-host of Lifetime’s Cook Yourself Thin, Allison demonstrates cooking techniques that will help real women enjoy the food they love, while losing weight. As the host of TLC’s Home Made Simple, Allison traveled the country helping families create simple, tasty home made meals.  

A passionate home cook, Allison honed her skills while working for Martha Stewart and Food Network, working with well-known food personalities as a food stylist and recipe developer. Allison was part of the editorial launch team for Everyday Food magazine, and was a member of the original Everyday Food television show cast.  

Allison has also overseen the development of four cookbooks for nutrition and weight-loss leader Robert Atkins and developed recipes for cookbooks for The South Beach Diet. Allison is a regular contributor to Glamour, Real Simple, Mainstreet.com, and other national magazines and newspapers. She has developed and tested recipes for James-Beard Award winning cookbook writer James Peterson, Rodale, Cooking Light and Saveur Magazine.  

Online, Allison hosts market tours for FoodNetwork.com, and technique videos for Hearst’s Delish.com. As the founder of The Wooden Spoon, Allison and her team of chef instructors offer private cooking lessons for clients.
 
Allison received her undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University and a culinary degree from the Institute for Culinary Education, where is  also an instructor. She's a member of various professional associations, including Slow Food and the International Association of Culinary Professionals. At present, she is a Food Studies Masters Candidate at New York University.
